Rumor Du Jour- Who Will run in Cloverdale-West Langley? #canpoli #bcpoli

Will She or Won’t She?

Already the landscape is cluttered in the new riding of West Langley-Cloverdale .

You have already heard that Gurmant Grewal,Dave Hayer,Paul Brar, Dean Drysadle and Mike Garisto have already thrown their respective hats ( I have never actually seen any of them wear hats) into the ring and declared they will rung for the federal Conservative Party of Canada nomination.

This is only October 2013 and the nominations has not even been declared open.

But now the rumor mills are working overtime and I am hearing that Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts is pondering a run for the roses.

A Watts entry into this race would make it very exciting with most likely most of the aforementioned candidates volunteers ( not Gurmant’s) bailing on their candidate to help pave the way for a Watts coronation.

In fact some of the candidates would likely bail on their volunteers ( not Gurmant)

Stay tuned this could be a lot of fun!

George Heyman is your new Dipper Candidate for Vancouver- Fairview.

I am keeping my eye on you Adrian!

George Heyman was won the nomination as the BCNDP Candidate for Vancouver Fairview leaving city councilor Geoff Meggs either on city council or searching for a new seat.

This is good news for Vancouver taxpayers who just saved $1 million on the cost of a by-election assuming he does what he says and stays on council.

Most pundits had predicted this nomination would go the other way.

Both are excellent candidates and I am sure that George will represent the BCNDP well.

In fact George will probably keep Adrian Dix on his toes in that he would make an excellent leader himself.

Congratulations George!

Republicans say no one issue is more important than another.

A poll on Fox news today revealed that 56.18% of the issues put to forth respondents were equally important. Some of the choices were: fixing the medicare overhaul, addressing the threat from Iran, reducing the national debt, securing the boarder and fighting the war on religion.

This poll and the issues put forth may explain in part why Republicans are having a hard time getting behind one candidate.

There is no lighting rod issue to rally the delegates around one candidate.

Curiously absent was ” Giving Obama the boot” which I would think as a fairly important issue to most Republicans.

That's an issue they should keep front and center!
