The Senate: Rumour Du Jour #bcpoli #canpoli #senate

To the Senate?

Once the current senate turmoil in Ottawa involving Senators Duffy and Wallin blows over, a strong rumor out of Surrey suggests former BC Liberal Finance Minister Kevin Falcon will be appointed to the Senate.

Should this happen it will quash the other rumor, namely that Falcon is going to run in the new riding of Cloverdale-Langley ( or whatever it is to be called) against already declared candidate former MP Gurmant Grewal.

We shall see!

  1. You know, MP’s are in the same boat with the Senate on expenses. I’m surprised MP’s didn’t shut the farce down for fears it would blow back on them as well. And it might just do that. The whole “expense” thing with politicians and civil servants sucks from a taxpayer’s point of view. Period. They all need to clean up their act!

  2. No senators should be appointed from any province until the Senate gets its expense issue properly dealt with. If that proves impossible, the PM should not appoint any more, and let the vacancies pile up. The Senate is a real mess right now.

    1. I totally agree with you. It’s a shame it’s next to impossible to abolish it with opening up a constitutional can of worms.
